Meaningful Week...

I had such a fun time on Friday...company organised a community event whereby we brought some old folks living in Toa Payoh out for lunch...these are old folks mostly living alone with nobody to take care of them and they are currently being taken care of by Touch HomeCare...

So in the morning we were briefed on how to take care of them cuz most of them will have some problems here and there...and after the briefing we went to pick them them in group of twos...the old lady that was assigned to me and my colleagues is a 75 yr old lady with no family at all and she has not gone anywhere the past few years...the most she had wandered is the few blocks around where she stay...

Lunch at Copthorne...

Anyway, I really had to salute this particular lady in her twenties...she had devoted her full time to work and take care of the old folks at this care corner at Blk 5 Toa Payoh...very admirable spirit...well, having seen and interacted with the old folks, it really makes me feel hoe fortunate I am...we really must be thankful for what we have...

It's late afternoon by the time we got back office after dropping the old folks at their home...and since i still have time before I met my friends so i went shopping...yes, shopping again...

Actually I needed a pair of court shoes to replace my current one la...cuz my old shoe is "disintegrating"...after looking here and looking there, i finally bought my shoes at this shop at People Park centre...this shop is there as long as i have memory of People Park centre...it's situated at 2nd floor...and I also learned something from the shopkeeper...

I guess most of us has this experience with the leather shoes we bought and usually we'll buy from designer brands...as time goes by, we'll find the lining of the shoe starting to "disintegrate" after a long period of wear or after it was not worn for a long time...and after long period of wear, your feet smells "funny" when you take off your shoes...the shopkeeper told me that's because for designer shoes, their capital costs is much higher (cuz the designer also need to get paid mah...) so the supposedly leather shoes is only leather on the outside...the lining of the shoes they will use material like PVC which will cause all the "disintegration" and smell...if the leather shoes is also lined with leather, the problem will not happen...i dun know true or not la, maybe i'll post again in time to let you know after i've tested my new shoes cuz it's supposedly lined with leather...hee hee...

Woohoo...new hair day...

Had such a busy day yesterday...came into office and had to start preparing for the HDB talk in the afternoon...rush rush rush...still got to attend a briefing at 10.30am...

After briefing, more things not done for the HDB talk...only 25% of the materials to be distributed were done up...more rush..lucky no panic...wahaha...so hungry - i had not had anything for the morning...no time eat cuz by the time we finish, we had to go HDB hub already...lucky my lovely and beautiful colleague bought MacDonald for us to temporarily fill our stomachs...i love u for that...

At least during the talk can relax a bit and my friend had to give me "heart attack"...we arranged to meet on Thurs and suddenly she sms me she on her way to do her hair first so see me later...so my dear blur queen friend had sms "thurs" instead of "tues"...that's what i call "birds of the same feathers flock together"...wahaha...

By the time the HDB talk finish, it's already 2.25pm...still got to rush back for our unit meeting with coporate staff...so we had a quick lunch...rush rush rush..

After meeting i off to meet my friend at tampines...think i got influenced by her...i went to had my hair cut...

See...nice or not??
Before...

After...

Best thing is i go back, my mum saw me, my sis saw me...but they never say anything leh...hahaha...well i got home not that early...but they are still awake cuz they gotta go fetch my dad from the airport...usually they will be sleeping already...

This morning also...nobody say anything...why har???

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

So fast...i'm one year older again...*sigh*

Well, yesterday was my birthday...my colleagues celebrated for me by buying me a b/day cake...thought it was a chocolate cake but it turn out to be coffee cake coated with chocolate...lucky it wasn't too strong so i could stomach it (as you all know i dun drink coffee, not even a drop of it ok) and the chocolate was strong enough to cover it...hee hee
Me in the office celebrating...

Then went for lunch with my two colleagues and we were later joined by another two...i got my free Firehouse at Swensens - if it's your b/day, just go to Swensens on that day, show your IC and you'll get your free Firehouse - yeah yeah yeah...
Me and my Firehouse

So happy...then in the afternoon I went for my free facial...free facial every yr on my b/day month becuz of the Josephine products I bought about two yrs back...and hence had my eyebrow plucked and nicely done...not thick and bushy anymore...yeah...

Evening time by the time i finish...so meet my friends 6pm at Plaza Sing and we went to eat at Ajisen...my friends ordered ramen but i just ordered the side dishes cuz i not really that hungry...after dinner, we went to watch Valiant...it's a very nice and cute cartoon...totally enjoyed it...actually I wanted to watch the Maid but my friend dun want leh...no choice...and in the toilet, i saw the much circulated story of the maid poster in the toilet...ok ok, wasn't that scary cuz was mentally prepared but if you are not, that poster is damn creepy...

After movie, eat again...wahahaha...we went to Gelare to eat ice-cream...regretted my choice - i had chocolate temtation...should not have chosen the "standard" one on the menu, should have went for the cone or waffle so i can choose and try other flavour...hee hee...think i'm too greedy, right...wahaha

My mum also bought a cake for me...which we ate this morning...well, today still my birthday ok...my lunar one...16th of the seventh month...i guess that's why my friend says i freak him out...esp when he watches horror movie with me (which is only one time only lor)...

A summary of my b/day

Well gotta stop here now and go for my SACA training...c ya...

Weekend...busy busy...

Attended my first SACA volunteer training today and met a bunch of nice and interesting people. Everybody is so just so friendly...

Then I realised I got bitten by the mosquito just above my lips...(see photo on the right)... Stupid mosquito...always biting me at funny places...once i even got bitten on my eyebrow...

Anyway do be careful and take preventive measures against mosquitoes as dengue fever is on the rise...

Anyway, my jc buddy message me to go watch movie so after my training, went over to bugis to see what show is nice...shoot...this is the second time he did this to me - kena "conned" into watching a boring, mindless movie...i guess my friend reaction is more interesting...hahaha...the plot is so lame and not much (not even one) frightening scene but he can get frightened leh...see, isn't he more interesting than the movie...wahaha...(oh my god, he is going to kill me if he reads this)...but at least I get to eat my share of popcorn...and i amaze my bro with the amount of popcorn i can eat...ho ho ho...

That's my Sat for you...on Sunday, very standard - morning will be spent in church. Went to my uncle's house this week after church for makan...eat eat eat again...

Saw one of my uncle...felt so sad...he was hospitalised for a very long time earlier on...and today I saw him he look so thin...his cheeks were sunken...sigh...felt so helpless and angry at myself...if only i had done my job better...if only i had pick up enough courage to approach him...if only....life is so full of "if only"...

After that, went to my friend's house to help her clear her stock of clothes - and most are new ok...compliments of my shopaholic friend...hee hee...and i also helping her fix her computer...no no...i'm no expert but i know where to go to ask for help...

The Keys to Your Heart

Dun know wa to blog abt so went to do a personality test...how accurate are the results...i leave it to u to decide...hee hee

The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to those who have a split personality - cold as ice on the outside but hot as fire in the heart.

In love, you feel the most alive when your lover is creative and never lets you feel bored.

You'd like to your lover to think you are stylish and alluring.

You would be forced to break up with someone who was ruthless, cold-blooded, and sarcastic.
Your ideal relationship is lasting. You want a relationship that looks to the future... one you can grow with.

Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.

You think of marriage something you've always wanted... though you haven't really thought about it.

In this moment, you think of love as something you don't need. You just feel like flirting around and playing right now.

What Are The Keys To Your Heart?

I know a lot of people are sad that Dumbledore died...but i am almost sure when i read book 6, he will come back...like Gandalf in Lord of the Rings...stronger and better...i mean , i just feel it...my so called "sixth sense" was further confirmed when i came across this website posted on Singapore bloger xiaxue's blog...the link - Dumbledore Is Not Dead

I just can't wait for the next book...hope Rowling does not keep readers waiting for long...
